In order to create a community of spiritual growth and to establish healthy accountability here at Calvary, we will be reading along a unified plan provided by the Read Scripture app. Read Scripture is an app that has been created by The Bible Project to promote daily bible reading and to equip believers with knowledge of the unified story throughout Scripture utilizing videos of book overviews, themes, word studies and more! If you would like to join in on reading through the bible in a year and stay connected to this local church body, simply download the Read Scripture app on iOS or Android. Then, under the settings, set the start date to January 1st, 2019 – this will ensure that you will be reading right along with everyone else. If you do not have a smart phone or would like to have a hard copy of the plan for offline reading, simply click the link below to download.

Welcome to Read Scripture!

If you haven’t already, take some time to watch the book overview video for one of your favorite books of the Bible and acquaint yourself with the style and information that The Bible Project offers! There are tons of material already uploaded to their YouTube page: Check it out!

Make sure to check in here each week for material to supplement your reading! We will be posting extra thoughts, some challenges, specific prayers, contextual information, and more. The goal is to provide everything that you may need to stay connected to Christ through reading His Word, and also to stay connected to and unified with the church body here at Calvary.

One of the best things that you can do to ensure a better reading experience is to reach out to someone else and commit to reading along with them, praying together, and discussing what God is teaching you through His Word. Without accountability, all of us are prone to wander away and focus on ourselves, rather than on Christ. Find someone that will challenge you to grow more in Christ and connect with them this week!

John 15:5-8
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
